Dental Feat Launches as a Canadian Dental News and Business Publication

The new site covers the Canadian Dental Care Plan, practice marketing, and buying and selling practices, with sourced guides and clear labels on sponsored content.

October 7, 2026. Dental Feat (dentalfeat.com) today launched as a Canadian dental news and business publication for dentists, practice owners, associates and office managers. The site publishes news analysis, how-to guides and ranked lists on the topics that shape how clinics operate, starting with the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), practice growth and practice capital.

The announcement

Dental Feat is free to read at dentalfeat.com. It is organized around six sections: CDCP, Growth, Practice Capital, News, Top Lists and Press. At launch the site carries guides to CDCP preauthorization and claims, local search and Google reviews for dental practices, valuing and selling a practice, news analysis of the Canadian Dental Association’s latest assessment of the CDCP and the dental staffing shortage, two ranked lists, and the first press announcements.

The publication is aimed at the people who run clinics. It does not offer clinical or treatment advice, and it is not a directory of dentists. Its focus is the business and policy side of Canadian dentistry, where decisions about billing, hiring, marketing and ownership are made.

Why a publication for this audience, and why now

Canadian dental clinics are working through a period of rapid change. The CDA’s assessment of the CDCP, reported by CTV News on October 6, 2026, says 6.5 million people were enrolled in the plan in 2025-26 and 3.9 million of them received care. The same report describes cost confusion at the chair, a high rate of preauthorization denials and about 7,200 vacancies for hygienists and assistants.

Those are practical problems for the people running a clinic. Owners need to understand coverage rules, staff a hygiene schedule, estimate costs for patients, and plan for growth or succession, often at the same time. Much of the information they need sits in long government guides, association reports and scattered news items. Dental Feat’s aim is to gather it, check it against primary sources and explain what it means for a practice.

The context clinics are working in

The CDCP began paying claims for seniors in May 2024 and opened to eligible Canadians of all ages a year later. To qualify, a person must be a Canadian resident without access to dental insurance, have an adjusted family net income under $90,000 and have filed a tax return. The plan pays a share of eligible costs at its own established fees, depending on income, and the patient pays the remainder.

That structure has created a new kind of front-desk conversation. The CDA reports that 59 per cent of patients expected CDCP care to be completely free, and that 37 per cent of those who received care still reported financial barriers. More than 90 per cent of dentists now take part in the plan, and 70 per cent say they support it. Clinics are therefore not deciding whether to work with the CDCP. They are deciding how to do it well, with accurate estimates, complete preauthorization files and enough staff to see the patients who are coming.

Dental Feat was built for that decision. Its guides are written for practice owners and managers who need a clear answer and a link to the source, not a general overview.

What readers will find

CDCP. Explainers on billing, preauthorization, frequency limits, co-payments and the plan’s changes, written from the federal Dental Benefits Guide and the plan administrator’s published grids. Launch pieces include a guide to preauthorization and a guide to claims and billing.

Growth. Practical marketing guidance for Canadian practices, including local search and a rule-safe system for Google reviews.

Practice Capital. Guides to valuing a dental practice and to selling it through a share or asset sale, with a plain-language look at the lifetime capital gains exemption.

News. Analysis of developments affecting Canadian clinics, such as the CDA’s CDCP report and the dental staffing shortage.

Top Lists. Compiled lists such as practice management software options and official CDCP resources, with the selection criteria stated.

Press. A place for dental suppliers, service providers, associations and clinics to publish announcements, clearly labelled as press releases.

Editorial standards

Dental Feat has set out the rules it intends to hold itself to from the first day.

  • Sourced facts. Figures, rules and dates link to the original source, such as government pages, regulators, associations and primary reporting.
  • Clear labels. Sponsored content and press releases are marked as such, and sponsored links carry the rel=”sponsored” attribute. Editorial sections such as CDCP and News do not carry paid placements.
  • Stated criteria. Ranked lists explain how entries were chosen and disclose any paid placement.
  • General information only. Articles do not give medical, legal, tax or financial advice. Readers are directed to qualified professionals.
  • Corrections. Errors will be corrected promptly and noted on the article.

The site’s terms, disclaimer and privacy policy are published at launch.

How clinics and suppliers can take part

Clinics can use the guides directly, and can share them with their teams. Companies and associations with news for the dental community can submit announcements to the Press section for review, following the guidelines published on the site. Organizations interested in sponsored content or other partnerships can contact Dental Feat through the Advertise page.

Benefits for dental clinics

  • A single place to follow changes to the CDCP and what they mean at the front desk.
  • Step-by-step guides that practice managers can adapt into internal procedures.
  • Practical growth guidance that respects the advertising and privacy rules clinics work under.
  • Clear information on valuing, buying and selling practices before engaging advisors.
  • Plain labelling of what is editorial and what is paid.

Availability

Dental Feat is available now at dentalfeat.com and is free to read. New articles will be published through the Canadian dental calendar, including CDCP benefit-year changes, fee guide updates and year-end planning.
